By preserving primary forests, the local community has not only safeguarded their living environment but also created a unique tourist destination that fosters prosperity for the people. As the first rays of sunlight pierce through the treetops of Pu Ta Leng, the forest patrol team from Bản Bo commune begins their day. These silent guardians of the forest tirelessly protect the "green lungs" of the Northwest Highlands. With 32,428 hectares of natural forest and 2,081 hectares of planted forest, Tam Đường serves as a living museum of Vietnam's forest ecosystems. "Each tree in the forest is a treasure to us," shares Phàn A Hoan, a local tour guide. From a native villager, he has become a bridge, introducing visitors to the untouched beauty of the mountains and forests. As he guides tourists along misty trails, he constantly reminds them of their responsibility to protect the environment. Tam Đường has demonstrated that forest conservation does not mean closing off natural resources. On the contrary, by preserving the untouched beauty of the forest, the district attracted 380,000 visitors in 2023, generating revenue of 140.64 billion VND. Concurrently, forest environmental services payments totaled 38.9 billion VND, providing a stable income for local residents. A standout aspect of Tam Đường's forest conservation efforts is the active involvement of the community. From village elders and leaders to young people, every local is an extended hand in forest protection. They not only participate in patrols and fire prevention but also serve as passionate guides, educating visitors about the value of the forest. To ensure sustainable development, the district has planned eco-tourism sites such as the Dragon Cloud Glass Bridge and the Pusamcap Tourism Complex, integrating them harmoniously with nature. Notably, 103 local porters have been professionally trained in exploration tourism, becoming true environmental ambassadors. "Forests are not only the assets of Tam Đường but also a shared national heritage," affirms Sùng Lử Páo, Chairman of the Tam Đường People’s Committee. With a vision for development through 2030, Tam Đường aims to expand eco-tourism models tied to forest conservation, striving for green and sustainable growth. Tam Đường is proving that when people live in harmony with nature, forests become reliable companions on the path to development. This is not only a lesson in environmental protection but also a valuable model for sustainable economic growth based on forest resources. Tweet Về trang trước Gửi email In trang
